The adjacent chart shows the retail price history for gasoline in New England.

Notice the upward spike in September 2005 as a result of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Prices climbed in the first half of 2006 due to concerns about supply reliability; but have been steadily declining since August, thanks to refining capacity and storage needs.
